Yesterday Year 6 went to a Children at War 1940s experience where we were taken back in time to see what life was like during WW2. We had the opportunity to become Blitz kids by experiencing the air raid sirens and shelters; we also carried an army back pack, hat and gun to see what the soldiers would have to carry each day. They were really heavy! Finally we worked together to use stirrup pumps to put out an incendiary bomb before seeking refuge in an Anderson shelter! We are looking forward to using our new knowledge when learning more about the war.

Yesterday, the children in Key Stage 2 had a visit from a team from Google. They led a very exciting assembly about how to stay safe when using the internet and taught the children handy hints about how to protect themselves online.
